Message Hi Esperanza,
I have just spoken with you on the phone. And after having spoken with you I'm looking forward to arranging espanol lessons with you. I intend to visit DF in late January and i will contact you.
I was wondering about transport from DF to your home town. Perhaps you might have some suggestions. Looking forward to meeting you.
Kindest regards,
Brian.

Message Learning Spanish is always a challenge, but that challenge can be pleasant or painful depending on your teacher. (I still remember my high school instructors, whose dull grammatical drills made me swear off Spanish for years.) Going to a language school can be a gamble because you don’t know what you will get; the teachers are generally pretty good, but there’s no guarantee.

Studying with Esperanza has two advantages. First, you get individual attention, which greatly speeds the process of learning. Second, Esperanza is more than a “pretty good” teacher; of the many Spanish teachers I have had, she is among the very best.

Why is she so good? First of all, she makes you forget that learning is hard work. Her humor eases the process, and you feel that you are having an interesting discussion instead of struggling in a new language. Patience is another key; even good instructors will sometimes look at you as if you’re an idiot after you make your 101st error in the use of the subjunctive (and you will, if you haven’t already). Esperanza understands that mistakes are part of the process, so she doesn’t lose her patience and you don’t lose yours.

Finally, teaching is an art and, like all art, has its mysteries. Who can tell exactly how and why Spanish starts falling into place when you talk to certain people? Fortunately, you don’t have to answer that question. All you have to do is know that Esperanza is one of those certain people, and that we are lucky to have her as a guide.

(If you want to practice, here's the same thing in Spanish:)

Message Esperanza is my friend and was my teacher for several months last year. I'm living in Cuernavaca with my fiancé and his family, and came here knowing no Spanish. After about a month here I decided private lessons would probably really help me to learn as fast as possible, and I was so lucky to have Esperanza for my teacher. She's patient but she wants you to work hard, she's FUNNY, and she helped me so much even beyond our classes together-- helping me get to know the area I'm living in, telling me about events and places around me, and always offering her help with anything else if I needed it. She is a great teacher and a real friend.
Gracias, gracias, gracias, querida Esperanza...

Message i have been to see Esperanza 3 times now over the last few years and my spaish has improved dramatically. I study a little spanish every day at home but there is nothing like a good practical visit to Mexico. The ultimate Spanish language lab. and who better than Esperanza to be your guide through the process.
For example I now know how to write/understand the following:
I have found Cuernavaca to be a welcoming place, with friendly people and pretty flowering trees and bushes year round. It is not called "The City of Eternal Spring" for nothing.
If you are considering the immersion approach to learning Spanish, go for it and sign up with Esperanza.

Message Esperanza was one of my teachers this past summer. I have lived in Spain, Ecuador, and Mexico. There is no better place I could have ever chosen to go to study Spanish than Cuernavaca. Having Esperanza made this experience even more worth the while. Not only did she help me so much with the language, but she also helped me to better understand the culture. Yes, she was a great teacher, but even moreso, she was and still is a best friend! Thanks for all your help Esperanza and I can't wait to see you again this summer when I return to Cuernavaca to live. Hasta pronto.
Texas loves you!

Message I have had the pleasure of being instructed by Esperanza on two different occasions, and I highly recommend her as a teacher of Spanish. She teaches in a friendly, non-threatening manner and makes learning fun. Being knowledgeable about her country, she gives an in-depth learning experience to her students that includes not only the language but also many interesting facets of Mexican history and culture. Best of all, having Esperanza as a teacher is also having a good friend.

Message Hola Esperanzale,
Tamara, Steve, Michael, David, Chester, Pamela and Carolina,
finally I made it on this beautiful homepage, too.
It´s so great to read some lines from you and to see all the awesome pictures. We had really a blast.
And for the rest of the world who wants to learn spanish:
I was in Cuernavaca to learn spanish mostly for travalling through central america last year and I stayed there for about 5 weeks. I had Esperanza as my first teacher and she became a very good friend.
She knows a lot about Mexico, the language, the people, the city Cuernavaca and the mexican way of living.
But all I say is not enough:
You must meet her by yourself.
She is a great person.

tu aleman raro

Message I spent 3 full months in Mexico in Jan - March of 2001, and had the chance to have Esperanza as a teacher several times. One of the hardest things of language classes is just that -- sometimes it seems to much like class. Esperanza has the talent of making class a fun experience that integrates the language into your life, instead of it just being "tarea"(homework). I highly recommend Esperanza if you desire to be able to speak, read, and write Spanish. If you have any questions feel free to email me!
